The horizon was the selling point, the mass of lights down below, just beyond the one tree and the steeple. It would be enough, I was sure. But there was just one thing, it was so ugly. Something horizons are not by default. You had to climb to the roof, past the third floor window with the windchime on the fire escape, and face east to find the real view. There it was nice enough, but the effort was too much.
